A Fun Friday Post...All About Me!!!

I saw this little quiz on Nan's site at http://momstheword--livingforhim.blogspot.com and decided to use the same questions (which come from yet another site) and take it myself. Read on if you want to know seriously random things about me, which I just know ya'll do! : )

The phone rings. Who will it be?
Hopefully someone in my Verizon network so I don't use up too many minutes!

When shopping at the grocery store, do you return your cart?
Pretty much always...isn't it just the right thing to do?

In a social setting, are you more of a talker or a listener?
I'm a talker and a listener. If you do nothing but talk, people just think you're a jerk.

Do you take compliments well?
Yes, you have to when you just get so darn many! (heehee)

Do you play Sudoku?
I do if the answers are in the back.

If abandoned alone in the wilderness, would you survive?
Heck yeah! I watch "McGruber!"

Did you ever go to camp as a kid?
Yes, I went to 4-H camp when I was about 10. I remember sewing up this potoato sack craft made out of burlap, with little potatos sticking out of the top. They were pantyhose with batting stuffed inside. We learned how to make french knots which served as the "eyes" on the potato. It was so realistic looking! My mom hung it on her fridge for many, many years!

What was your favorite game as a kid?
Definately hide-and-seek in the summer, at night! We would play for hours!

Could you date someone with different religious beliefs than you?
No, it'd be too complicated. And then there's all that stuff that God warns about...unequally yoked and whatnot...

Do you like to pursue or be pursued?
I definately like to be pursued because when I have been the pursuee (is that a word?), it's never turned out very well. And besides, I have too much pride to "pursue." It's embarrasing! But in marriage, a little puruit of your man only makes for an interesting time (wink wink). And he appreciates it!

Use three words to describe yourself?
Tall, traveler, warm

Do any songs make you cry?
Lots, depends on what kind of mood I'm in, and what the song reminds me of. Music makes me very emotional. But without fail, no matter when I hear it, that awful song, "The Christmas Shoes" brings me to slobbering tears every time! I hate that song!!!! But it's so heartbreakingly sweet!!!!

Are you continuing your education?
Si. I want to learn Spanish, and am planning on getting my Masters in Education at some point. I believe in life long learning...but you don't have to go to school to do that...life teaches us lessons everyday!

Have you ever taken pictures in a photo booth?
Yes, but nothing bad!

How often do you read books?
Just as often as I go to the bathroom (hands down, the best place for the mom of a baby to get away for a little quite reading time!).

Do you think more about the past, present or future?
Lately, the past. But I'm coming out of it...I think it's a summer thing that happens to me...I get really nostalgic! But right now, my head's in the present because we're getting ready to move. Not a whole lot of time for thinking about much of anything else!

What is your favorite children’s book?
"The Tale of Despereaux." I love the way the book explains the difference between the light and the darkness, and what it does to people, and rodents. (heehee)

What color are your eyes?
A lovely green.

Where is your dream house located?
A beachfront house in the Gulf. I love Destin, FL.

If your house was on fire, what would be the first thing you grabbed?
My baby and my phone to call for help. I don't think much else would matter.

When was the last time you were at Olive Garden?
It's been about a month or so. We usually go on Sunday afternoons for the soup, salad and breadsticks lunch. It's pretty cheap, and all you can eat. But for dinner? Not in a while.

Where was the furthest place you traveled today?
Not far honey! I was drivin' on fumes! But when I got gas in the car, I went all the way downtown to the bank. I could drive for days...it's my favorite thing to do when I want "me" time.

Do you like mustard?
I do. But I don't like the Grey Poupon type unless it's in a sauce or something...too strong for me.

Do you prefer to sleep or eat?
Sleep! That's a no brainer (when you have a baby).

Do you look like your mom or dad?
My mother says that I'm her clone...and I've never been one to argue with her! (not) But yes, I look like my mama!

How long does it take you in the shower?
If I'm taking one to relax, then it could take up to 30 minutes or so. But if I'm showering to get ready to go somewhere, about 10 minutes.

Can you do the splits?
Usetocould.

What movie do you want to see right now?
"Julie and Julia." Is it still out? I hope so!

What did you do for New Year’s?
Was at home this year with the baby. It was nice.

Do you think The Grudge was scary? Didn't see it, but the commercials for it scared the poo out of me! I make it a point not to see scary movies for any reason. I have a very active imagination, and they don't leave me for a long time!

Do you own a camera phone? I have a phone that takes pictures, but is it a camera phone? I'm not sure?

What’s the last letter of your middle name? E

How many hours of sleep do you get a night? A solid 7 or 8...depending on how late I go to bed.

Do you like Care Bears? Of course! I like the one with the little rainbow on it's tummy....awwww

What do you buy at the movies? I love to get the works, candy, popcorn and a big soda, but it's so darn expensive! So, I sneak in a can of Coke, a baggie full of popcorn, and a candybar!

Do you know how to play poker?
No

Do you wear your seat belt?
Yes. I figure if my baby's all strapped in, I should be too. That way if we're in a wreck (God forbid), she'll still have a mommy!

How many meals do you eat a day? It's never the same. I eat when I'm hungry.

Do you like funny or serious people better? Both

Ever been to L.A.? Yes, to be on the Dr. Phil Show! It's a long story, best saved for a blog post someday.

Did you eat a cookie today? No.

Do you hate chocolate? That's a silly question to ask a girl!

Are you a gullible person? Not really, but sometimes a little too trusting.

Are you easy to get along with? Ridiculously easy!

  1. We're going to see Julie & Julia tomorrow for our anniversary. I hear it's very good.

I was totally in love with MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson) for like....13 years. Seriously. He was my kind of man. But then I saw him on a MacGruber skit on SNL, and well, let's just say my fantasy was ruined. Time has not been kind to him. This has nothing to do with anything. I just thought I would mention it, since you watch MacGruber.

The song "Cinderella" is what reduces me to a slobbering, sobbing mess. Also the children's book "Love You Forever." I can't even read that one out loud.

My in-laws live right on the gulf, in Marco Island, FL. It's really, amazingly beautiful there.

I loved reading your answers here! It's fun to get to know people like this. I think I might steal this from Nan too.

  2. This was fun! I especially loved your funny answer about the compliments: "Yes, you have to when you just get so darn many! (heehee)" Very funny, lol!

I used to love MacGyver but not sure what McGruber is.

Oh, and your house pictures are wonderful. What a lovely home you have!
