I am 5 days in and feeling discouraged today. I know God is going to do what He promised, and that is provide me with a dollar every day for 30 days, so that's not why I'm discouraged...He is doing that.
My heart is heavy for a couple of reasons. One, my good friend Shea at Whaley Wonder is going through the battle of her life because her 5 year old daughter has spinal cancer and is undergoing treatments right now.
My friend is being so brave and is so at peace, I don't see how she does it. She gives all the glory to God and is trusting Him completely. I've been thinking about her all day and praying for her, and asking others to pray for her.
But as soon as you start doing good for the kingdom of God, what happens? You come under attack. So, I'm not going to pretend that things are perfect here in my own home. They are not.
Please pray for me and my family. They are my world and I love them with all my heart. Life just gets messy and ugly sometimes, so that's why I'm down. But then I think of my friend Shea and her daughter and of course the Sudanese families who are picking leaves off of trees for food and scrounging together a handful or so of wild nuts for a whole day's meal, and I am humbled.
My problems can not even be compared to theirs. So I will keep pressing on in prayer for my friend and I will keep trying to raise funds for Life Outreach and I'm going to keep interceding for and fighting for my family. The enemy is not going to win.

Angie thank you for rallying more warriors for our daughter. . . and thank you for being steadfast. I did want to clarify her diagnosis: praise God it is Not cancer. . . however could become that way if the tumors are not stopped from growing. She has tumors in her brain and spinal cord that are inoperable. At one point we thought they were shrinking and then the next they appeared to be growing. It's a confusing diagnosis. . . I guess that's why it took them over 6 months to figure it out. Thanks again for everything!

ReplyDeleteYes, I will absolutely pray for her! It is so hard to watch a child suffer, at any age.
DeleteMy brother is fighting cancer for the THIRD time now.
My other brother just got out of the hospital after having a heart attack and seven stints put in two arteries, he has severe heart disease and we're not sure what the outcome will be (they can't unblock the other arteries).
My sister has some cysts that are growing on her liver that they have to look further into and she has some other health issues too.
This is all so hard for my mom, to have three of her children with health issues.
But she is praying and taking it to the Lord and leaning on Him.
I will pray for your sweet friend and I will pray for you too!
