January 6th, Old Christmas Day

January 6th is Old Christmas Day. Mountain folk celebrated Christmas on this day for generations.

Interesting... as I said in your Shambie blog... my hubby is mad at me because I put the tree away already... our church bulletin has that the epiphany was this past weekend even though I knew that there was something else to the 6th plus we are Scotch Irish by lineage so I should know this as a passed down thing...and the 8th is celebrated in our church as the circumcision of Christ... and then there is Russian Christmas and now I feel HORRIBLE for being in such a hurry!
    I hope God forgives me because I don't think my hubby will .... LOL
