O Stomach Flu, O Stomach Flu....

I haven't felt much like blogging the past few days. I've contracted this nasty stomach flu from my daughter, who thankfully seems much better. She only threw up about 3 times and had a few diarrhea diapers for a few days. I figure she picked it up at the church nursery. It's just so ridiculously predictable now. She'll go in on a Sunday and by Wednesday or Thursday, have a runny nose or a cough or will be throwing up. It never fails. I wish I could just leave her home.

So now, mommy's picked it up and has not sailed through it as GG has. I've pretty much had to camp out on the bathroom floor because I can't seem to get out of there. I will spare you the details (you know what a nasty stomach flu entails).

The funny thing is, I NEVER get sick. I'm not kidding ya'll...I haven't even had so much as a cold since before the baby was born (going on 2 years). I was joking with someone the other day that I had the immunity of a rhinoceros (I'm not sure if it's proven that rhinos have particularly stealth immune systems, but I've never heard otherwise ; )). But I've had to eat my words (and then barf them up again) because my white blood cells decided to take a day or two off and let this bug meander it's way on into my system and wreak havoc (maybe this is why I never get sick...I turn into a drama queen)!!!

Say a prayer that I'll be over this by Christmas. At Thanksgiving, for whatever reason, I didn't eat a lot...I felt like I missed out after it was all over. I definitely DON'T want to miss out on Christmas dinner, condemned to only saltines and Sprite and the bathroom floor. : (

  1. I pray you will feel better by Christmas! My husband & I were sick one Christmas and it was not fun. I know what you mean about the nursery, when my kids were little, everytime they went to nursery at church or to those play areas at the mall or McDonalds/Chick-fil-a, they would get sick within a few days. We stopped letting them to go to the play areas, but there's not much you can do about the nursery at church. It sounds like they need to clean & disinfect the toys regularly, but I know some of it can't be helped this time of year. Again, hope you feel better soon.

  2. Aww Angie I am so sorry you are so sick!
Little ones unfortunately pick everything up and then share it with mommy and daddy!
I think the stomach bug is worse on us as adults!
Take good care of yourself and I am sure you will back to normal very soon!
I missed Thanksgiving this past year because of the flu ~ I don't want to miss Christmas!!
    Blessings

  5. I'm praying that you'll be better soon! I completely understand about the nursery. Jack has been sick every week for almost two months. It starts about Tuesday and ends about a week later, and then the cycle starts all over. J.J and I have been taking turns staying home from church to keep the kids home. Jack's cold would turn into an ear infection every time and then the doctor would put him on antibiotics. I'm not a fan of antibiotics, but what else can clear up an ear infection? so I hated it every we went to the doctor because I knew what the outcome would be. I'm glad we can feel each others pain . . . on the nursery thing. I really don't want to feel the stomach pain ;)
