...count your blessings see what God has done! And so the song goes. So I thought I'd do a post on just how many crazy and wonderful blessings we've received this year. It's hard to feel down about how tight your budget is, etc. when you sit down and make a detailed list of what you DO have to be thankful for. So here is one such list.
My husband manages a hotel and brings home stuff all the time. Of course the hotel collects a lot of items that get left behind and end up in the lost and found. Those items are tagged, bagged and kept safe there for 90 days just in case the owner calls to claim it. Sometimes they do, but a lot of times, they do not. He has practically racked up an entire wardrobe just from businessmen who are poor at packing! lol And another perk is that it's at his discretion whether or not to throw out old items that are no longer used or give them away or keep them. He has done all of these. But sometimes, he keeps them. One such item that I am amazingly grateful for is a huge case of trash bags that he brought home one evening. The hotel had changed all their trash cans, and these particular bags no longer fit, so the leftover case he had on hand, he just brought home. This case, no joke, is going to last me a good year or better. I've only used maybe a third of those bags in 6 months. Not having to buy trash bags for a year? That's a HUGE blessing in my book ya'll! Not to mention a huge savings!
Other freebies to note...
Clothes: 3 pants (2 Ralph Lauren, 1 Banana Republic) 2 sport coats, 1 dress shirt, 1 wind breaker, 1 Ralph Lauren knit pullover, 2 pair of leather shoes.
Appliances: 1 really nice iron, 1 35" tv (they were going to throw out), 1 32" flat screen tv (also was going to be tossed), several old computer monitors.
Misc: 1 diamond(ique) ladies watch (very pretty), 1 Kodak EZ share camera, 2 red chenille decorator pillows, and probably so many more things I can't even remember. Mostly all needing to be replaced due to hotel upgrades or change in decor...all of which would have just been tossed out. But they found a nice home here. WHAT A BLESSING!
